Our clients made an online booking with Thomson for a 2 week stay at the Club Hotel Riu Marco Polo in Tunisia.
Shortly after arriving at the hotel our clients began to notice evidence of poor hygiene. They advised that there was a particular problem with the food served at the hotel and the buffet food was of an extremely poor standard.
According to our clients, food was left out for long periods of time and often appeared reheated. The eating areas were also infested with flies and wild birds which found their way onto the food.
Three days into the holiday our clients contracted infective gastroenteritis, suffering symptoms of stomach cramps and severe diarrhoea. Medication was purchased from a local pharmacy to help relieve their symptoms.
