We currently have a vacancy within our expanding Accounts Team for a Legal Cashier

Experience: We are looking for a qualified legal cashier, preferably with a minimum of 2 years’ experience of legal cashing in a busy solicitors office (or where unqualified by examinations, shows significant proven experience of legal cashing in a busy solicitors office) and is able to demonstrate a robust understanding of solicitors accounts rules. Must have experience of using legal accounts software, bank electronic payment software and BAC’s payment software. Applicants must be IT literate and have good keyboard skills
Duties: Checking and processing receipts advices and associated documentation from lawyers and secretaries.
Processing client related disbursements invoices and generating disbursement related purchase ledger payments.
Liaising with Lawyers and Secretaries to check and source information required.
Ensuring the treatment of receipts and payment complies with the firm’s procedures and solicitors accounts rules.
Preparing and executing all duties required of them, following the HH procedure’s promptly and performing the daily SAR compliance control checks.
Person Specification: This is a responsible position requiring an intelligent cashier who is self-motivated and can operate without close supervision, and on his/her own initiative. Applicants must have a robust approach to relationships and a positive team spirit combined with the ability to work accurately and adhere to critical deadlines under considerable time pressure.
Confident, articulate and adept in obtaining information on their own, meet targets and ensure compliance with the firms procedures and SRA.
