The Law Society launches new advertising campaign; ‘Don’t get mugged by an insurer’
In a new advertising campaign by The Law Society is encouraging those involved in accidents to consider using a personal injury solicitor before accepting the first compensation offer by insurers.
This advertising campaign is set to run for the next six weeks and will include advertisements at railway stations, in regional and local media and on the internet.
Desmond Hudson, chief executive of the Law Society commented that the campaign sends out a clear message to see your solicitor and don’t accept the insurers’ first offer. However, Nick Starling, director of general insurance at the Association of British Insurers, commented that insurers are fully committed to paying fair compensation to claimants as quickly as possible.
The adverts state that on average you could get two/ three times more if you consulted a solicitor, which comes from research by the Financial Services Authority.
