International Women’s Day – A Chat with Lisa
Ahead of International Women’s Day, we are celebrating some of the women that make Hampson Hughes. Today, we spoke to Lisa Kane, Trainee Solicitor, about her journey with Hampson Hughes.
Lisa Kane, Trainee Solicitor:
I have been working at Hampson Hughes Solicitors for over 4 years and commenced my training contract in July 2018 following successful completion of my LPC with a commendation award.
I undertook my LPC with a Masters in Professional Practice on a part-time basis with the University of Law whilst employed by the firm. This was challenging and involved strict time management, as it was important I maintained a healthy work-study-life balance. However, Hampson Hughes provided me with ample support by allowing me time off to focus on my studies and supplied in-house training during my time with the firm.
My current role as a trainee solicitor is highly varied and has enabled me to gain experience in numerous contentious areas of law including clinical negligence, personal injury, commercial law, holiday sickness, housing disrepair and costs law.
My future goals are to complete my Professional Skills Course (PSC) which I have recently commenced & qualify as a solicitor within the next ten months. In my spare time I enjoy socialising, playing musical instruments, watching sports and travelling.
