Liverpool Trussell Trust Foodbank
The HH family have teamed up with Liverpool Trussell Trust foodbanks. The foodbanks do a huge amount in supporting a number of deprived and vulnerable families across Liverpool, and we want to do all we can to help.
We had the pleasure of meeting both Co-ordinators, for the North and South sites of Liverpool. They shared their business’ history, how they started work for the charity and we discussed how we can help going forward. It was harrowing to learn of some of the situations families in Liverpool are in, from single parents to full time working families, it was a massive eye opener.
A team of HH employees volunteered at the main office for the North of Liverpool. It was humbling to see what goes on behind the scenes and how much additional support the volunteers offer to families in need. Throughout the whole charity there are very few paid workers and approximately 230 volunteers.
We want every company to learn about the work these foodbanks are doing and the families in Liverpool you could help. It is heart-breaking to hear.
To support these families, we have begun donating family trips out with packed lunches and travel tickets, to help with the burden of the summer holiday pressures. Two separate families have already enjoyed a trip to Chester Zoo and Knowsley Safari.
Across our offices we will also have a collection crate for our staff to donate food. If you would like to donate, the warehouse is currently short on:
- UHT Milk
- Instant Mash
- Cold tinned meats/fish
- Sachets of hot chocolate
- Individually wrapped sweets/chocolate bars/crisps
- Toiletries e.g. deodorant, shower gel, shampoo
- Washing powder
Without everyone’s donations and the amazing work the employees and volunteers do the food bank wouldn’t be able to exist.
You can drop off at any of the permanent collection points in the following supermarkets:
