Drunk Driver collides with two vehicles in M6 mishap
In 2017, an estimated 8,660 people were killed or injured when at least one driver was over the drink-drive limit. The North West saw the most offences of any region with more than 10,000 motorists caught drink driving.
It is reported around 16% of all deaths in Road Traffic Accidents is the cause of drink driving. Recently, a drink-driver hit two cars as he drove the wrong way down the M6, near Lancaster. Luckily, there was no serious injuries.
Road users at the time described how the motorist was driving at high speeds towards them, eventually colliding with two vehicles. A spokeswoman informed that the driver suffered chest injuries and was admitted to hospital. Nobody else was injured.
It is understood the man was arrested before being admitted to hospital, although currently he is not under arrest.
