£2,100 Secured for Holiday Illness in Egypt
We were recently instructed by a holidaymaker who contracted holiday illness due to poor hygiene standards on their Egyptian getaway.
Our client had booked an all-inclusive package holiday at The Grand Hotel in Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt for one week.
However, just two days into their holiday, they began to suffer stomach cramps, sever diarrhoea, nausea and fatigue, all of which lasted around 13 days.
Our client attended a pharmacy whilst abroad and was prescribed medication to help relieve their symptoms.
According to the claimant, hygiene standards at The Grand Hotel appeared very poor, particularly in relation to the hotel restaurant and the food it served. They claim that food was under-cooked, appeared reheated and was left out for long periods of time.
Furthermore, our client was not the only holidaymaker at The Grand Hotel struck by illness, as they spoke with other guests suffering from similar symptoms.
Our expert Travel Law team managed to secure a total of £2,100 compensation for our client.
Following the successful outcome our client said:
“I am incredibly pleased by the outcome of my claim. I literally sat back and waited for my settlement. I never thought it would be this easy or go so smoothly. I really can’t thank Hampson Hughes Solicitors enough.”
