£2,224.30 awarded for holiday illness claim in Cuba
Our team of holiday illness solicitors, recently secured compensation for a client after her holiday was ruined when she fell ill after eating contaminated food.
Our client booked a two-week package holiday with Defendant, TUI UK Ltd, at Grand Memories Cayo Santa Ma Hotel in Cuba. As the holiday was all-inclusive, all food and drink throughout our client’s stay was provided by, and consumed within the hotel. According to the claimant, food and hygiene standards at the hotel were very poor. There were cockroaches around the eating area, cutlery and crockery were dirty and no hot water for 8 days.
Just three days into their holiday, the claimant began to feel unwell. They experienced various symptoms, including:
- Diarrhoea
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Raised Temperature
Our client’s symptoms developed after they had eaten the food provided by the hotel. As a result, the Claimant symptoms were brought on by the poor food hygiene standards within the restaurant of the Grand Memories Cayo Santa Ma Hotel in Cuba
The client was awarded the total sum of £2,224.30 in damages.
Commenting on the service received by Hampson Hughes, our client said:
Thank you so much and also thank you to your barrister, I appreciate your help. I have to say until you took over my case I felt like I was not getting anywhere and had a lack of response. You moved my case on and kept me informed at all times you were very efficient and professional and I would certainty recommend you, I can’t thank you enough.
